Our commitment

KinderStoryWerk is designed for children and we take our obligations under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) seriously. We are committed to protecting the privacy of children under 13.

No direct collection from children

We do not collect personal information directly from children. All child profile information — including name, age, hometown, interests, and story preferences — is entered by a verified parent or guardian through the adult account interface.

What we collect about children, and why

The only child-related information we store is what a parent provides to personalize their child's story. This includes:

• First name

• Age or grade level

• Hometown or neighborhood (for local story setting)

• Interests, hobbies, and favorite subjects

• Optional: names of friends, pets, or family members the parent chooses to include

This information is used solely to generate the child's personalized story. It is never used for advertising, shared with third parties for commercial purposes, or retained beyond what is necessary to deliver the service.

Verifiable parental consent

Before any child profile is created, we obtain verifiable parental consent through the account creation process. Parents must:

• Confirm they are 18 or older

• Agree to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service

• Acknowledge that they are providing child information on behalf of their child

Parental rights

At any time, parents may:

• Review the personal information we hold about their child

• Request correction of inaccurate information

• Request deletion of their child's profile and all associated data

• Revoke consent and close the account

Data security

Child profile data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Access is restricted to authorized personnel and service providers operating under data processing agreements.
